Installing a New Windshield in Your RV

Monday, March 28th, 2011

When it comes time to replace the windshield in your RV, calling a normal glass installation company can only complicate your problems. RV Renovators specializes in safely removing your old windshield and replacing it with a new one. There is a huge difference between a normal car windshield and a RV windshield.

Windshield Part of the Structural Support:

One of the main things that needs to be understood about RV windshields is that unlike car windshields, they make up a portion of the structural support for the RV. In order to maintain the safety of the RV the windshield must be installed properly. We use professional equipment that meets or exceeds the factory standards.

Coach Inspections:

Before you begin a trip you may want to have a professional inspection to make sure that everything on your RV is operating properly. How to Deal With a RV Tire Blow Out

Friday, March 25th, 2011

Having a blow out in a RV can not only ruin a trip but can potentially cause extensive damage to your RV. Unfortunately it is going to take a lot more than a jack and a spare tire to get you back on the road again. More likely than not a RV tire blow out will cause significant damage to the wheel well, molding, as well as the tanks and valves that are generally located in that area.

Does the Wheel Need to be Replaced:

Wheels for RV’s are designed with strength and longevity in mind. However if the entire weight of the RV comes crashing down onto the wheel as it would in the case of a blow out, chances are that they wheel will bend and you may even damage the axle. The first thing you will probably have to do is call RV Renovators to come change the tire for you, unless you have the proper equipment on hand.

Will My RV Need an Inspection:

Even if you get your tire replaced and get back on the road it is a smart idea to have your RV inspected to make sure that everything is operating properly to ensure your safety next time you travel. In the case of a blow out, RV Renovators can inspect your coach to make sure that any and all damages are repaired. Safety is the number one goal in mind when we do any work to a RV and we want you to be confident that you and your family will be safe in your RV as you travel.

If you had a RV tire blow out contact RV Renovators today and let us help you replace it and inspect your RV to make sure there aren’t further damages down the road. (480) 818-5904

Installing RV Cabinet Door Struts

Monday, March 7th, 2011

A cabinet door strut is a spring loaded device that is used in RV cabinets to provide a positive lift to help the person in opening the cabinet door and keep it open. They are often used on cabinets where the door swings up vertically instead of opening horizontally. When it comes to installing cabinets in RV’s or working on them there are several things that need to be taken into consideration: motion prevention, vibration prevention, self closing hinges, door stoppers, and several other things.

A lot of Cabinet struts come without any instructions so your best bet is to have a professional do the installation. By letting an experienced team work on your cabinets you can rest assured that the job will be done right. You will be able to feel confident that the products you chose were installed properly and safely.

RV Carpet Style and Color Ideas

Friday, March 4th, 2011

A general rule for RV’s is to get a nice low profile carpet with a very tight weave. This type of carpet will stand up better against the wear and tear and provide you with a lot of longevity. At the end of the day though, it is still your RV and everyone has unique preferences when it comes to style and color. Some may want bright purple shag carpet, others will opt for more neutral colors to create a more clean contemporary look.

Typically lower weight material is best but whatever the case RV renovators is here to help you make your RV look exactly how you want it! Installation time depends on manufacturer availability for the product, but we can usually install new floors in 3-5 days.

If you have questions about changing the carpet style or color in your RV call the experts at RV Renovators today. (480) 818-5904
